Electronic registration

Eligible persons who have a local Hong Kong dollar savings or current bank account in their sole name with any of the participating retail banks (click here for the list of banks) may register through that bank on or before 31 December 2021 and receive payment through a specified individual account. Joint accounts will not be accepted for receiving payment under the Cash Payout Scheme (“the Scheme”). The registration process is summarised as follows:

2. Information required for registration
  • Local contact telephone number (or choose to use contact telephone number kept by the bank)
  • Choose bank account for receiving payment
  • The first four alphanumeric characters of the Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card number (e.g. A123)
  • Local contact telephone number (or choose to use contact telephone number kept by the bank)
  • Bank account number for receiving payment

  • Payment in respect of the electronic registrations made in the first ten days of registration (i.e. from 21 June to 30 June 2020) will be deposited into the bank account specified by the registrants successively starting from 6 July. For registration made by eligible persons starting from 1 July, payment will be received about 1 week after the registration.
